Let’s talk baby items because is there anything more exciting that shopping for a babe! Not only is it exciting it can often be overwhelming with so many amazing looking products on the market. Sorting through what you actually need verse what is a fun addition can be a challenge, especially for your first. So from a mum of three these are a few things that made my life easier and more stylish.
Bimby and Roy underwear
This ridiculously comfy bralette is the perfect feeding bra for those first days when you don’t leave the house or hospital. It is supportive and stretchy, feels amazing on, plus looks fantastic to help you feel a little more like you in those hazy first days.
I have had dummies for all three of my kids and can honestly not understand how anyone survives without one. I have such an aversion to constant noise that I would do almost anything to make it stop haha! I loved the gorgeous colours of the BIB dummies and the fact that they are designed to mimic the mothers breast so they support breastfeeding rather than hinder it.
These beautiful reusable nursing pads are good for the environment, easier to use than the disposable ones as well as being super soft and breathable. I never had any leakage issues with them and they go in the dryer which was a huge bonus!
4. Rattan Bassinet
I had second hand everything with my first two babes and this time around I was lucky enough to be in a position to have a few luxury items and this gorgeous bassinet was top of my list. I can’t actually remember exactly where I got this one but I did see a beautiful one the other day on Instagram through Sacred Bundle in their Ziggy Collection
5. Truly Amor Bebe record book
This beautiful heirloom record book from Truly Amor makes you want to complete those pages. The quality is just stunning and it is all the little details that make this baby book a priceless piece of history for your family.
6. My Little Gumnut cloth nappies
I love cloth nappies. I have used them for all three babes but Ollie has been the only one I have had in My Little Gumnut nappies. They have super cute designs, I haven’t had any leakages so far and they wash really well. Cloth nappies might seem like a lot of work but they really aren’t and the benefit to the environment with reducing the land fill is worth the small amount of effort it is. Honestly you do that much washing anyway, what is one more load?
7. Cushii
I was gifted a Cushii when Ollie was born and it was honestly our most used baby product in the house. Ollie loved to sleep in it because he could hear me near him. I loved how portable it was, it moved all around the house depending on what I was doing -cooking, showering, pegging clothes etc. We even took it to the beach and used it as a bassinet when we went away one weekend. They have gorgeous designs and they are made from super soft and cozy tencel.
This little seat was perfect when Ollie was first starting to eat (and also perfect to take on holidays). It is easy to clean, has a removable tray and is lightweight. We could feed Ollie wherever we needed and it gave him great support to help with sitting up.
9. The Young Folk Collective Change Basket
This beauty was a must have for my nursery. I had a gorgeous set of drawers that were going to be in Ollies room and I wanted a change station area to sit on top. This basket was the most ideal solution as it was stylish but also practical. The baskets are ethically made in Vietnam using soft organic seagrass and the quality is superb. I loved being able to move it around the house as well as another safe place to put Bub down.
So is there anything more adorable that this? Watching him toddle around the house in these quilted bags has just been amazing. It is something I will never forget and I have so many photos of him in them. But aside from the aesthetics they are so easy to use, wash really well and keep him toasty warm in winter and cool in summer. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
11. My Little Giggles teething toys
Ollie loved this little wooden play gym. I bought the frame through market place and searched high and low for the perfect toys to go on it. Eventually I found My Little Giggles on instagram and loved that you could customise to what your wanted from colours to the toys on it. That way it was going to suit in with the colour in the nursery and the house because it spent a fair bit of time in our lounge room as well. We are still using the toys as teethers in the house, car and pram!
From across the ditch this stunning New Zealand brand is top notch on quality and style. Ollie looks picture perfect baby in his bonnet and the wide brim on this one easily keeps the sun off his face.
Well I could keep going on but I will eave it there for now :) If you have any products you couldn’t live without I would love to hear about them.
